Brooks Tropicals Inc. has done it again! Florida’s largest fruit and vegetable supplier is excited to begin the year with delicious, healthy Caribbean Red papayas. Grown on Brooks’ Belize plantation, these yellow-skinned, red-fleshed beauties will arrive in large supplies during March and continue through December.
With over 10 years of growing and harvesting experience, Brooks has the ability to grow top quality, large papayas year-round. "We’re ready to take produce departments by storm, says Neal Brooks, Director of Sales and Marketing. Our supplies have dramatically increased over time, and we expect supplies to increase significantly before the year is over," added Brooks.
Known not only for their extraordinary taste, enormous size and exceptional quality, these Meridol-type papayas are aids in digestion, and are a good source of vitamins A and C when consumed regularly.
U.S. papaya consumption has increased by 49 percent in the past five years. Brooks is ready and able to provide its customers and the public with a reliable supply of the highest quality papayas.
"Ensuring quality by pre-cooling the fruit on the day of harvest, and maintaining a continuous cold chain once the fruit is packed and shipped, make our papayas stand above all competitors," added Brooks.
Brooks also grows Solo Sunrise papayas, which are significantly smaller than the Caribbean Reds‰, and have acquired popularity since their first debut over a decade ago. Both types offer consumers diversity in color, shape and flavor. With weekly, nationwide shipments, Brooks has managed to create a papaya market second only to its avocados.
Among the 40 different products Brooks will offer this year, Caribbean Red papayas essentially will be a prominent figure in produce departments nationwide. |
