Slicing starfruit

Whether you’re slicing up starfruit to toss in a salad, garnish a great dish, bake in a dessert or even grill with the evening’s entree, you’ll want the stars to come out. Here’s how to slice into stars.

Trim edges

Use a knife or a veggie peeler to trim the ribs or edges of the starfruit. The brown edges are a sign of the starfruit’s ripening.

Slice off ends

With a sharp knife, slice off the ends and discard.

 

Slice into stars

With a sharp knife, slice across the width of the fruit . Slice into your desired thickness. As you go, poke out any seeds.

Poke out seeds

If desired, poke out any remaining seeds.
