A sweet, tangy fruit, starfruit can vary in size from 3 to 5 inches in length. Also known as carambola. Its edible skin has a waxy sheen and turns from green to yellow during the maturation process. Five sharply angled ribs have caused the starfruit to also become a very popular and unique fruit. |

- Selection: Choose a firm, crisp fruit. Browning on the edges, and a deep yellow color is a sign of ripeness.
